The Liskeard Town Team is looking for two volunteers to join its Executive Board from January 2013. The Board is responsible for making decisions on the town’s Portas pilot. It includes representatives from a wide range of groups and organisations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Traders Association, and local residents.
There is one place for a representative of local pubs, cafes and restaurants, and one place for a representative of local voluntary/arts organisations. People from these sectors can either put themselves forward for the roles or nominate someone else.
The representatives need to be people who can reflect the interests of the businesses or organisations they are representing.
They need to have the capacity regularly to attend monthly meetings and be a point of contact for ensuring their sector has a voice on the board.
A broad knowledge of issues affecting the town is an important requirement alongside enthusiasm and a commitment to change.
Nominations must be received by email or post using the Nomination form December 2012
Paper copies can be picked up from the One Stop Shop at Luxstowe House and should be returned to Steve Foster, Liskeard & Looe Community Network Manager by 21st December:
By email: firstname.lastname@example.org (please use Town Team Executive Board in the email header)
Or postal address: Room 75, Liskeard One Stop Shop, Luxstowe House, PL14 3DZ
If you have any questions, please call Rachel Brooks on 01579 345674.
The Board will consider nominations for the pub, café & restaurant representative in January and make an appointment.
The voluntary sector nominations will be displayed in the library from 7-11 January. The voluntary sector will be able to vote on preferred representatives via a collection box. The representative with the most votes will be appointed.
