Liskeard count.

How many people are in Liskeard at different times? Can you help us find out?

A key way to know if the ideas for revitalising Liskeard are making a difference is to count the number of people in town.

Our first survey will be on the 18th August to coincide with the Town Council’s inaugural produce market. We’re then hoping to carry out further surveys around twice a month on a variety of days.

Each recorder will stand in their designated town centre street for 15 minutes and count the number of potential shoppers (ie not young children) who cross an imaginary line in front of them, recording their findings on a simple tally chart.

Recording will last from quarter past till half past the hour every hour from 9.15pm till 4.30pm. It is really important that recorders keep to their time slots so that we have simultaneous recordings.

9.15 – 9.30am
1.15 – 1.30pm

10.15 – 10.30am
2.15 – 2.30pm

11.15 – 11.30am
3.15 – 3.30pm

12.15 – 12.30pm
4.15 – 4.30pm

Record sheets, clip boards and pens can be collected from Seasons café and returned there after your shift. Please arrive 5 minutes early.

This is something you could possibly fit in with your normal Saturday shop. There’s a free coffee and cake for every volunteer!

Could you do a slot? Or more than one? What are all the times above that would suit you?

Email or ring her on 01579 346688 if possible by Wednesday 15 August.

We’ll contact you as soon as possible to let you know what slot(s) we’d like you to do.
