How things will work and ways to make sure everyone in the town can get involved.
Our DCLG contact, Hilary Paxman, will be visiting Liskeard to have a look around the town, talk through next steps and explain the offers of support available to progress the ideas in our successful application. Fingers crossed we have one of those sunny days that show our town in its best light.
The team who produced the bid which is made up of representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Traders Association, Town Forum, Town Council, Cornwall Council, Cornwall Councillors, non-retail town centre business and residents meet to discuss future governance arrangements, the TV interest and to plan a presentation for the public meeting on 22nd.
The Town Forum public meeting. Your chance to roll your sleeves up and get involved! Whether you are a shopper, shopkeeper, landlord, artist, gardener, knitter or pretty much any other please join us to find out more. There will be information about the themes in the application and ways you can join in to turn Liskeard’s successful ideas into reality. For those who have a very good reason why they can’t be there on the 22nd ( Tickets to a Will Young concert indeed! ) we are looking at some ways you can still show your interest which we’ll tell you about soon.
Sally Hawken, lead of the bid team operating in this interim period, has been invited to a DCLG workshop in London for the 12 successful towns. This is to find out more about the offers of support that we might want to use over the coming months.
If you have questions or suggestions about anything related to our bid please email or comment here and we’ll do our best to get back to you quickly.
